Welcome to Jolies Fleurs.

I am Jo and opened Jolies Fleurs in 2019 for a new adventure, following a career as a primary school teacher.

Playing with flowers and creating bouquets has been something I’ve done since I was 5 growing up in Australia. Our kitchen windowsill was often full of mud pots I created and filled with garden blooms.

My Australian upbringing tends to shine through with the flowers I love to use, eucalyptus is my favourite foliage and I also love the unusual flowers and different shapes, for example Proteas and Banksia.

Creativity and storytelling is part of my DNA. Whilst teaching, I enjoyed nothing better than to use a fabulous book to find creative ways for the children to understand and explore their learning and now ‘storytelling’ is at the heart of my floral designs.

We puposely don’t have buckets filled with pre-made bouquets as we always ask ask why the bouquet is being bought, who is it for, their favourite colour or flower, or perhaps a favourite vase they always use for their flowers. This inspires the design of the arrangement to ensure that big smile and the ‘wow’ on delivery. This has also driven a decision to offer a service whereby we visit a family home to gather blooms and foliage for funerals, weddings and family events… we are all about the personal touch.
